Introducing ProBiora3™

"ProBiora3™ is a patented, complete oral-care probiotic ingredient. The ProBiora3 represents a novel approach to utilizing probiotics for oral care. Our blend includes three bacteria that are natural residents in healthy mouths.ProBiora3 is a 100% natural ingredient that helps to re-establish a healthy balance of oral micro flora and provides the additional benefits of whiter teeth, fresher breath and healthier teeth and gums. Although probiotics have been used for decades in gut-health applications, the ProBiora3 ingredient represents a novel approach for achieving and maintaining complete oral health. Certain common problems of the human oral cavity - dental caries, periodontal or gum disease and bad breath - are known to result from an imbalance of the normal populations of certain bacteria. A small number of the more than 500 microbial species that inhabit the oral cavity can cause a negative shift from oral health when they are able to achieve sufficiently large numbers in localized areas of the teeth or gums. In contrast, it is known that a small number of bacterial species can help maintain a micro flora population balanced in favor of healthy gums and teeth. These beneficial strains are included in ProBiora3: Streptococcus oralis, Streptococcus uberis and Streptococcus rattus."

9 Things You Should Do Instead of Buying Stocks

9 Things You Should Do Instead of Buying Stocks (Read the article), but summarized, here are Scott Adams (Creator of Dilbert) generic investment advice (which he first published several years ago):

  1. Make a will.

  2. Pay off your credit cards.

  3. Get term life insurance if you have a family to support.

  4. Fund your 401(k) to the maximum.

  5. Fund your IRA to the maximum.

  6. Buy a house if you want to live in a house and can afford it.

  7. Put six months' worth of expenses in a money market account.

  8. Take whatever money is left over and invest 70% in a stock index fund and 30% in a bond fund through any discount broker, and never touch it until retirement.

  9. If any of this confuses you, or if you have something special going on (retirement, college planning, tax issues), hire a fee-based financial planner.

KeePass Password Safe

KeePass Password Safe

What is KeePass?
Today you need to remember many passwords. You need a password for the Windows network logon, your e-mail account, your homepage's FTP password, online passwords (like website member account), etc. etc. etc. The list is endless. Also, you should use different passwords for each account. Because if you use only one password everywhere and someone gets this password you have a problem... A serious problem. The thief would have access to your e-mail account, homepage, etc. Unimaginable.

KeePass is a free open source password manager, which helps you to manage your passwords in a secure way. You can put all your passwords in one database, which is locked with one master key or a key file. So you only have to remember one single master password or select the key file to unlock the whole database. The databases are encrypted using the best and most secure encryption algorithms currently known (AES and Twofish).

Chili cook-off

Okay, so now I'm just plain bragging (sorry). Every year for the past 8, or 9, or so many, years, my church has had a "Chili cook-off", and every year I try to add something unique. For the first 2-3 years it was the HOTTEST chili (which was actually REALLY REALLY hot--and those of you who know me know that I can handle the heat (as long as it tastes good), and this was SO good, Hot, Sweet, a little tang, perfect!).. Anyway, then I went for the Vegan-side (no animals were harmed in the making of my chili), for about 5 years, and then this year I was just going for a good overall-best-type chili, and amazingly, mine took first place. Which was weird, because it was one of the most simple chilis I've ever made:
  • 18 bean mix (water)
  • a corned beef (yeah, I know, who knows where this stuff comes from, I was reading about boston baked beans, and was inspired, but didn't have any meat other than a corned beef--and surprise, surprise, it was AWESOME!!)
  • molasses
  • a little sugar and vinegar
  • Mesquite smoke flavor
  • salt
  • chili powder, cayenne
  • some diced tomatoes
  • and a whole lot of time (about 17 hours--who knows why I started it at around 1AM, I sure don't, but the cook-off was at 6PM, so there you have it).

anyway it was surprisingly good, and the corned beef didn't add a 'strange' flavor, it just enhanced whatever the flavor was that I was going for. I told everyone it was shredded beef (okay, I didn't say shredded corned beef, but they can read my blog if they care that much), because I didn't want to reveal the 'secret', but now I just realize that it doesn't matter that much, it's just too good not to share, and I'm not revealing all the 'secret' details, just the ingredients, so have fun! :)
