Google Voice

I just recently started using https://www.google.com/voice/ it's pretty cool, it has a lot of the advantages of Vonage in the sense that they have a similar service to Vonages "Simulring", where I can add additional phone numbers, and when someone calls my "NEW" Google Voice number I can have it ring multiple phones. They have call screening, so they are asked to record their name first, and then when it contacts me it plays your name and asks me whether to accept or send to voicemail. They have free voicemail, free SMS, and... Get this... Free voicemail to TEXT CONVERSION!! (Most other carriers CHARGE for this service). Anyway, you have to beg for an account at present, but I LOVE their number picking interface, you can enter in numbers, or letters, I wanted to be 910-dskyeho... but I kinda wanted an 801 number so I found one that was one digit off of my HOME number--WAY COOL! Anyway, there is a lot more to experiment with this.. but so far I'm liking it. Google deserves my first-born ;) (I always say that I love Google so much that I'd give them my first born --I just love how they do business, they make the world a better place by giving away so much).

Anyway, sign up now, so that you can get accepted, and, if you don't have free long distance at home.. you do now.. via their web interface, you can call any number in the USA for free, Google calls you, then connects you to any number. And they have AMAZING international rates: http://www.google.com/support/voice/bin/answer.py?answer=141925 --wow.. I sound like I'm advertising... I'm really not, I'm just saying Google has done it again!! (you could be saving money if you are calling long distance in the US, or Internationally --I'm just trying to help you out :) )

I'm still on the waiting list for an invite. I'm jealous!
I think I signed up on June 21st (when I read that Google had bought up 1 million numbers) http://feeds.gawker.com/~r/gizmodo/full/~3/WwyQF5DNPL4/google-snaps-up-one-million-phone-numbers-as-google-voice-launch-looms-large )
